What we are looking for

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) should have experience working in a startup setting The CIO role will provide vision and leadership in developing and implementing information technology initiatives that align with the company’s mission. The CIO will work with their team along with the Executive Team to deliver a reliable and high performing IT infrastructure and systems. The CIO will be charged with identifying cost and productivity improvements, developing security frameworks for IT assets, increasing IT process maturity and improving integration. In addition, the CIO will be charged with improving the value of the IT investment portfolio and driving long-term view on technology investments. The CIO will lead the organization in planning and implementing enterprise information systems to support both distributed and centralized business operations and achieve more effective and cost beneficial enterprise-wide IT operations.

What you will be doing

  • Provides strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems for the organization.
  • Manages IT staff and creates/fosters an organization that can support growth and efficiency goals of the business.
  • Facilitates communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within the organization. Negotiates solutions, costs, and personnel approaches.
  • Oversees the back-office computer operations of the major software systems, including local area networks and wide-area networks.
  • Responsible for the management of multiple information and communications systems and projects, including voice, data, imaging, and office automation.
  • Oversees and evaluates system security and back up procedures.
  • Responsible for the development and oversight of the company wide IT budget – for both personnel expenses and hardware/software expenses
  • Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve company goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization.
  • Lead the firm’s technology committee and gain consensus for new technologies and policies.
  • Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.
  • Savvy about the business and technology, and effectively interacts with/influences business leaders
  • Strong personal leadership and communication abilities – while empowering others to grow and deliver results
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technology jargon in a simple manner to get executive buy-in and support
  • Evaluate the allocation of IT resources (people and systems) that are managed centrally and distributed in departments; prepare and recommend a plan for the most appropriate structure and allocation of resources for serving the IT needs of the institution.
